Hsis Early Years - Mental Health in the Workplace for PVI Managers

This Level 3 course is set over 2 days and is aimed at those managing a team within the workplace. The course is endorsed by TQUK which is an OFQUAL regulated awarding body.

Outline

Mental Ill Health is a growing issue, affecting millions of people including children.
The training is offered to raise awareness of mental health issues, discuss appropriate language and help challenge myths and assumptions to de-stigmatise mental health issues in the workplace.
We do not provide diagnostic tools, treatment or counselling; this is the role of a healthcare professional.

Description

This course includes:
  • What is First Aid for Mental Health?
  • Understanding Mental Health
  • Recognising Mental Health Problems
  • First Aid for Mental Health within the workplace.

The course is classroom based and there is an open assessment that you will need to complete over the duration of the course. You will receive a mental health manual and handouts. Each student will receive a 3 year nationally recognised certificate. You will have access to video training and other downloads.

  • Understand Mental Health and recognise different mental illness health problems
  • Understand the responsibilities in the workplace under mental health, including the legislations and laws
  • Learn to promote a healthy workplace and support an employee with mental health related problems
  • Be able to understand the Management Standards Approach
  • Understanding problems in the workplace as a result of unidentified mental health
  • Be able to implement an action plan to promote recovery of mental ill health
